So, Clyde will be with us one week tonight and I think I have created a monster of sorts! He is actually a wonderful hound and still feel he will make a greyt first hound for someone. He crates pretty well, though we are starting the process of weaning him of the crate, but leaving him with a muzzle as we do our own when we are not home, out of the house, etc. He eats fine, plays with stuffies, has no growlie issues, and is generally starting to come out of his shell. He is a chewer if left unsupervised. The only thing he has destroyed was a Dr. Fosters and Smith Catalogue, oh well. He is not a couch hog, though I cannot be sure that will not change, and this goes back to the monster issue....
A little backstory, our hounds sleep with us. They are babygated in our room and allowing in our platform style king-sized bed. They just walk right up there. So, yeah Clyde does now too. It took him a few nights to figure out what was going on, but for the past 3 nights he has, like Berry White, walked right in our room and right onto the bed. Sunday and Monday night he even stayed put all night. Last night he got up at some point. I don't mind it, but his future family might. Oh well, he seems to be very obedient, so they should be able to break him of it .. hehehehe... Lesley says treat them like my own, so be it!
